BeSeen helps you stick to phone limits you set for yourself by telling one person you choose (your accountability partner) when you slip. It's built to collect as little as possible.
What BeSeen stores
- An anonymous ID for your phone. No sign-up, no email, no password.
- Your rules: the name you gave each rule (for example "Instagram"), whether it's blocked or limited, and the limit. On Android, also the app's package name or the website address you typed. On iPhone, Apple keeps the list of apps you picked on your phone; BeSeen never sees it.
- Events: that a rule was broken, changed or removed, that a permission was switched off, and when your phone last checked in.
- Your partner: the first names you typed for you and your partner, and your partner's email address (if they chose email alerts) or a notification token (if they use the app).
What BeSeen never collects
- Screenshots, screen recordings, or what you type
- Browsing history, the pages you visit, or how long you spend in apps you didn't add a rule for
- Your contacts, location, photos or messages
Who sees what
Your partner gets short alerts like "Went over 30 min on Instagram" or "Removed the block on example.com". Nobody else sees your data. BeSeen has no ads and doesn't sell or share data.
BeSeen uses these services to run: Supabase (database), Expo and Apple/Google push services (notifications), Resend (email) and Cloudflare (these web pages). They process data only to provide their service.
Android Accessibility
On Android, BeSeen uses the Accessibility service only to see which app or website is on screen (to enforce your rules) and to notice when its own uninstall screen opens. It doesn't read or store anything else on screen.
Stopping and deleting
Partners can stop alerts from a link in any alert email or from the app. If you delete BeSeen, your partner is told that your phone stopped reporting. To have your data deleted, contact us below.
